Developing an SEO strategy to bring S&J’s new website to the top of the search results for localised searches in and around Bath
Problem:
S&J Roofing Bath came to us as they were looking to expand their business. They had a brand new website to promote their services but it wasn’t showing on the first few pages of Google’s search results. They really wanted to raise awareness of their brand in and around the area of Bath and start generating more enquiries from residents and businesses in this location. It was clear that they had a great website to showcase their services, however, it was lacking in content and had a few key issues stopping it from being favoured in search results, specifically, site-speed.
Nine months into the project, S&J were really pleased with the results of our SEO strategy so asked us to work on a Google Ads strategy to dovetail with the SEO efforts and help generate more website traffic and business leads. The aim of this was to help compete against their main competitor in the area, an older and more established business within Bath.
Solution:
Establish a clear SEO strategy to move their website up the search rankings for localised searches in Bath and the surrounding areas.
We took two key approaches with the SEO strategy; first, a content plan focussed on building out specific and detailed pages for each type of roofing service they offer, and on creating regular topical blog posts to position the website as relevant to specific roofing-related questions in the SERPs.
The second approach we took was to create an SEO roadmap to tackle the key technical issues with the website including page speed. Following this, the Google Ad strategy was rolled out with a focus on the more competitive keywords to support the organic search results.

Within the first six months of the SEO campaign, the website was ranking on the first page for the main keywords including ‘roofing services Bath’. Within the first year, the website was reaching positions 1, 2 and 3 for target keywords.
By working closely with their website partner and internal teams, we have successfully implemented the SEO and PPC strategies and have seen a significant increase in business leads.
The results from the Google Ad campaigns have generated numerous successful leads and continue to improve month on month as we report on key actions, results and next steps with the client.
