- How has your journey been with Flex Digital so far?
My journey has been great, I’m into my sixth week and I feel very settled. The people around me have made me feel very comfortable and welcomed.
- What’s something new or surprising you’ve learned on the job?
I have learned so much in such a short time already. A few highlights would be being introduced and having the opportunity to work on Unbounce pages, prepping keywords and descriptions for Google Ads and learning how the behind the scenes keyword implementation works.
- What part of your role makes you feel like a total rockstar?
I think those hours between 10am and 1pm, where you’re at peak level of awakeness, have your daily tasks outlined, have drank some caffeine and begin working away with some music on, that period is brilliant.
- What excites you most about working in the digital marketing world?
I am excited about everything in this industry. To quickly break it down there’s a couple of key exciting elements.
I think something which is really exciting about this industry is that there are a lot of different avenues that you may find yourself down. Someone who loves working in SEO and PPC may have to make a graphic for a client one day and then fall down a rabbit hole of graphic design styled marketing direction. Initially I thought I may have to pick one niche and just work through that, but if you enjoy different styles of marketing then you can pursue whatever you enjoy and progress your skills all over the board.
For now, I have so much to learn, which is great, I come in and act as a sponge trying to learn as much as possible from my more experienced colleagues, before our morning standup I’ll typically ask Marek or Theo what they are working on for the day and then proceed to ask if they can show me how they go about these daily tasks, I learn so much from this which is exciting!
- If you had to explain your job to a 6-year-old, what would you say?
I film and edit videos to help people be loved online
- What’s a small win that made a big impact for you recently?
I had the opportunity to travel to London to film some projects for this quarter for one of Flex Digital’s clients. The day went smoothly and we captured so much usable high quality footage. Walking away after a day with high stakes knowing you captured what you needed to is rewarding.
- Coffee, music, routine – what’s your go-to work fuel?
I’ll try and have a coffee a few hours after I’ve woken up, stick on some indie rock music and keep my energy high whilst working.
- What’s one piece of advice you’d give someone joining this industry?
I think just going into absolutely everything you do with an open mind will help you so much. Don’t restrict your thoughts and capabilities if a task seems new or different. Tackle it with enthusiasm and see every step of progress as a win. Learning in such a wide industry is important and there’s going to be so many new challenges, enjoy them!
- What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Give us a glimpse into your life beyond deadlines and Basecamp pings.
I enjoy going to gigs with friends, bands such as The Kooks, Catfish and The Bottlemen & Declan McKenna. I also enjoy watching the football on weekends and going to the gym throughout the week. In the evening I enjoy watching a film or series, currently watching Severance and after watching the season 1 finale I’m excited for the next season.

- If your job was a meme, which one would it be?
